writing phonese3 (…again)
January 26th, 2008 at 5:17 pm (Phonese3)
I’ve started writing phonese3 again. I know, I know. I start working on it every 6 months or so, give up after 2 weeks, then start over. It’s different this time. I promise.
I originally started writing it in Django, but my work thought I need to write my own web framework for them, so I decided to stop using Django, and start it using Mudfish. About a year after I started Mudfish, work changed their mind and decided to go with Django (like I had originally proposed). So here I am, writing it again with Django. During that time, Django released a new version and broke backwards compatibility so I decided to just scrap a lot of the old views and rewrite them from scratch.
While I would love to rival Duke Nukem Forever for hitting release dates (phonese3 was scheduled to be released on 6/6/06) I would rather have a nice, working version of phonese.
You can track my procrastination by following the changelog: http://phonese.cx/CHANGELOG.txt
